2026 Dedication
This 2026 production is dedicated to my dad, who we lost unexpectedly over the summer. Photography was always something that we connected with. From playing with his AE-1 Cannon camera as a child to taking a digital photography class at the local community college when I was in high school.
He helped me purchase film cameras and endless rolls of black and white film during a very angsty high school phase. He encouraged me when I discovered wild horses and my passion shifted to remote exploration. I think a part of him adventured through me, when I came home exhausted from days adventuring sunburned and bruised we would catch up over our favorite takeout. When I started exploring the southwest, he shared his own youthful adventures. I loved watching him animatedly telling me his stories.
With him gone, future trips feel a little less exciting. It’s hard to decide where to go, nowhere seems to garner excitement. It’s hard not wonder what he would think of my next adventure, the next back road to travel, the next long summer day. It’s hard to find the desire to go out into the wilds. It’s hard without him.
